🔬 8th-grade scientists put natural selection to the test! 🐦
Our 8th-grade science students recently dove deep into the world of natural selection with the "Battle of the Beaks" lab! They explored how different "beaks" (represented by various utensils like forks, tweezers, and clothespins) are better suited for picking up different "food" sources (like beans, rice, and pasta).
This hands-on experiment allowed students to:
* Observe how variations in beak shape and size impact feeding efficiency.
* Simulate how environmental pressures can drive adaptations.
