They are the backbone of our school, and we are so grateful for their dedication, smiles, and commitment to creating a welcoming environment for all our students and staff.

Mrs. Fuller's reading/writing workshop students recently partnered with Mrs. Mullins in the library for a hands-on Book Tasting lesson!

The mission: sample books from a variety of genres to help them identify key elements and expand their reading horizons. Students had just four minutes at each station to quickly read an excerpt, get a feel for the story, and then write a brief description and an honest review—are they interested in reading more, or not?

It's a fantastic way to practice quick analysis and develop a more informed perspective on the types of stories they love to read!

We're so proud of our student readers and writers!

The 7M students went flying!

Students applied their knowledge of the scientific method to design and engineer an experiment.

Students were testing the effects of adding mass to a paper airplane and the distance it would fly. Students had previously identified the independent and dependent variables of the experiment.

Students made hypotheses, designed the experiment, and then built their planes. They did a trial of their control. Then they added one, then two, and then three paper clips.

Students graphed data that they recorded during the trials. Students were then tasked to draw a conclusion about their experiment and state if the results matched their hypothesis.

Our 6th-grade science students had an incredible learning experience yesterday with a fascinating presentation from The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife!

They dove deep into topics like the reasons for the seasons, understanding carrying capacity, and the importance of habitat restoration. The highlight for many was the hands-on opportunity to touch various animal pelts and examine real skulls! What an amazing way to connect with wildlife science.
