In collaboration with WEDCO Public Health District, Harrison County Schools has updated operational protocols for handling COVID positive cases, quarantines, and exposures. Please see the letter below from Dr. Burchett, Superintendent of Harrison County Public Schools.


Due to the change in public transportation guidance over the weekend, Harrison County Schools has moved to a “mask-optional” phase for school buses and other district-owned vehicles.
Effective February 28, 2022, masks are not required on school grounds, in school facilities or on buses. Parents, visitors, students and staff members may choose to wear a mask at their discretion.


At the February 22, 2022 meeting of the Harrison County Board of Education, Sam Arnold, trustee, presents Chairperson Kristy Carey a $12,500 check from the Agnes McDowell Trust. Per the guidelines of the trust, proceeds from the Agnes McDowell Farm are given to the Harrison County High School Agriculture Department to be utilized for the benefit, maintenance and improvement of the Ag program. Operators at the McDowell farm also spoke at the board meeting regarding their enterprises on the various farm tracts.
Harrison County Schools certainly appreciates this unique partnership benefiting our Ag Department and our community.

Effective Monday, February 28, 2022, Harrison County Schools will be moving to a “mask-optional” phase of operation at all campus locations. It is important to note that masks are still required on the school bus due to a federal mask requirement still in effect for public transportation.

Students in Mrs. Ginny Barnes' Gifted/Talented program were offered the opportunity to create and submit a digital banner to be chosen for display representing Harrison County Schools at the upcoming Kentucky School Boards Association Annual Conference. This year's conference theme is "Connect the Dots." Students had to adhere to banner guidelines that included displaying the conference theme in addition to other elements Check out the great banners that were created and submitted by these artistic G/T students.


Girls in Engineering brought to our district by PLTW is happening this afternoon at the HS! Our students will have the opportunity to hear from female engineers from 3M and Toyota!

Last night, Mrs. Lucky was recognized at the Board meeting for being KMEA MS Band Director of the year. She said, " Thanks to Dr. Burchett and the Harrison Co. Board of Education for honoring me tonight. I'm so proud to be a part of our school system and our community. Feeling blessed."
