Welcome to Westside Elementary School!

We are so fortunate to have some of the most beautiful school grounds in the state of Kentucky! Here are just a few pictures of what you will see when you come to Westside.

Here is our Preschool playground.

Westside Elementary was established in 1964 in

Cynthiana, Kentucky. We are proud to serve students in

grades K-5, with seventeen regular classrooms. Our

school generally educates 325-350 students each year.

Teachers at Westside believe that “fair” means giving

every child the education that he or she needs, not

treating them all the same. We strive to challenge every

student to perform at their utmost potential. Our

daytime and after-school tutoring programs, along with

our Strategic Support Reading Teacher, provide

additional instruction to students in their particular area

of need. The Gifted and Talented teacher leads our

Primary Talent Pool and provides more challenging

instruction for those working above grade-level. Within

the regular classroom, our teachers differentiate

instruction so that individual learning targets can be met.

Westside proudly provides enrichment in the areas of

Physical Education, Technology, Guidance, Music, and our

Library. Students attend these classes once or twice

weekly. Other enrichment opportunities available to our

students come in the form of our new greenhouse and

garden, Student Technology Leadership Program,

Intermediate Academic Team, and assemblies which

focus on Science and the Arts.
