Welome Mrs. Alyssa Hudgins! Mrs. Hudgins is in the process of completing her student teaching assignment with us. Students have enjoyed having her conduct lessons and implement activities. She has been a great addition.

Math- Continue to learn about fractions. We have added and subtracted. We have found equivalents.

Reading- Continue to work on comprehension. We have been reading about Native Americans, explorers and settlers.

Keep up the hard work!  We are nearing the end of the nine weeks.  I know you are looking forward to fall break.  Don't forget to do your homework.

Reading packets will be due Friday.

Spelling packets due on Thursday.

Students exhibited hard work this week.  

5th grade small groups will continue to study maps.  They need to review their vocabulary sheets.  

Expect new reading and math packets this week.

We had another great week. 

Fifth graders need to study your Geography terms.  Next week we will study different types of maps.  You will have a new reading and spelling packet. 

Fifth Graders had a wonderful trip to the State Fair.  As always, you represented Southside well.

Students will continue learning geography vocabulary next week. Please look for Geography reading sheets.  There will be comprehension questions to answer.

In Math, they will continue Order of Operations, as well as, individual skills (money, time).

Congratulations! We've made it through the first week of school.
