Mrs. Harrington’s Happenings!

I was so glad to finally see everyone back this Friday!  I hope everyone stayed warm and safe during our snow days!  Next week, we will be talking about President's Day, Chinese New Year and then begin a story about Whales.  

Kindergarten will be talking about homes and working on their own addresses.

I hope that everyone has been able to stay warm!  It looks as though we will be returning to school on Friday (February 12th).  This will be a very busy and exciting day as it is Valentine party day!  Be sure to contact your child's regular teacher (or check their blogs) to get any information about the Valentine parties in their rooms.

This week 2nd and 3rd graders will be reading "Follow the Drinking Gourd".  All of the students have been eager to learn about this 'secret code'!  We are also working on verb tenses, letters that make the 'or' sound and subtraction facts.

First graders are reading about the life cycle of butterfly!  They are working on telling time to the nearest hour and spelling words that use the ur, ir or er sounds.  

Kindergarten has been working very hard to hear rhyming words as well as counting and writing corresponding numbers.
