Valentine’s Day Party
Our Valentine’s Day party will be Tuesday, February 14th   at 2:00 pm.  Below is a list of things people have volunteered to bring.  We also need drink boxes or pouches.  If everyone is here that day we will have 22 students.  You may also send in treat, candies, etc.  Please remember all snacks must be store bought.

Alivia & Shelby – 12 cupcakes

Valentines and Valentine’s Box
*Students will be bringing home a list of the students in our class so you can begin making Valentines.  Please have students write the names for themselves.  This is a great way to practice handwriting.
*Also please help your child create a Valentine’s box.  (Shoe boxes and cereal boxes work great)  Please be sure there is an easy way for students to put Valentines in as well as an easy way to get them out.

*February 20th – No School for President’s Day (subject to change if we miss school)
*March 5 – School will be in session to make up a snow day.

We are gearing up for our 100th day of school next week.  So far, only M&M's have been sent in for our 100th day snack.  Please check the newsletter that will come home tomorrow for other items we need.  

Remember school will be in session Monday, January 30th.  

The students were so excited with the new laptops I made for them.  We used them to practice typing our site words. 

Please remember to have students wear tennis shoes on Monday and Wednesday for PE.

The 100th day of school is fast approaching.  Please read the news letter that come home on Tuesday for items needed to help us celebrate that day.  

Students now have reading homework Monday-Thursday.  Be sure to return the nightly readers each day.  We use them in the class the day they come home as well as the next day.  

Since we missed our first snow day last week, there WILL BE SCHOOL on Monday, January 30th. 

Please keep working on the things on the nightly study guide and the nightly readers that come home with students.  IT is hard to believe this year is already half over.  

If anyone would like to donate snack size zip lock baggies, we are in need of a box or two that size.  Mrs. Hill ordered us some new math manipulatives last week that we need to get into our tool boxes.  

I hope you all had a great Christmas vacation.  It is hard to believe the school year is half over.  Remember report cards will be coming home on Friday.  Please be sure to read this weeks newsletter as it has some important information about snow days.  Can't wait to see you all tomorrow!

It is hard to believe we are just 3 weeks away from Christmas break! Last week was short and we had a lot of fun. This week we are back to business as usual.  Don't forget about our Family Literacy Night on Thursday from 5:30 – 7:00.  Stop by anytime during that hour and half for some family activities and a visit to Mrs. Judd's book fair.  

This week we will doing activities that deal with the familiar story of the Gingerbread Man. We will also read The Gingerbread Boy and  The Gingerbread Girl.  Be sure to ask your child what they did at school this week.
