frank: (adj.) straightforward

Blogging is not my thing; it feels no less than a herculean task. Most of my English classes revolve around discussion and interaction with peers and texts, so there are no worksheets or structured notes to post. Most homework is reading or projects with long-term deadlines. After some consideration, I have determined that I can try to share vocabulary that comes up during the week – so I will try this in the future. First, though, I will upload the visual rhetoric PowerPoints from APLC students in the event anyone was absent and still needs to do his/her analysis. Remember that an honest effort should be made to do a full analysis while looking at the first image before proceeding through the rest of the slides.

Tutoring this Thursday, and next Wed. & Thurs.  Sign up in the classroom.

Crunch Time

Juniors:  ACT is barely a month away and with all the snow days we've had we're going to have to hit the lessons hard.  WE CAN DO IT!

AP Juniors and Seniors: It was great to see so many of you at the Student Study Session on Saturday.  If you weren't there and would still like to send essays for scoring and feedback, I'll stay after school Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  You'll need 2 hours to complete the test but it's well worth your time.

ATTENTION! AP Students:

by admin

If school is cancelled Friday, then so is Saturday's mock exam.  Stay home and be safe.

Juniors: Focus on your classic and your collage.  (You could format your document and set up your works cited page.)

Seniors:  Pride and Prejudice should be finished!  (The film will be rescheduled.)

Work on your poetry analysis.  I've already arranged for an extra day in the lab, but be prepared to use the time wisely.  Bring headphones/microphones as needed and if you are willing to share.

Here we go again…

This should be routine by now – that you have your books home so you can read while the snow falls.

Remember: because of exam dates, time in the classroom will be intense. Prepare yourself.  You are working hard for YOUR future!
