AP French and Spanish students are collaborating for the next few weeks. We will be discussing, analyzing, comparing, and contrasting various media concerning Muslim headscarves and bans placed on them in France and Spain.

This collaboration began on Monday Feb 6 and it has been a VERY fun experience for both Mrs. Wagoner and myself. Our students have been expressing themselves in writing and aloud in intelligent ways. Learning to appreciate differences in belief and perspective is perhaps one of the most important of life’s lessons.

Infinite Campus Parent Portal

February 9th, 2011

Parents:

This school year Harrison County began allowing students' parents and/or guardians to view their child's grade in our grading computer program system, Infinite Campus.  Many of you have done this and seen your child's progress or lack of progress.  I've received a few phone calls from concerned parents over their child's "zeros".  Let me explain……I enter an assignment's title into Infinite Campus the day I assign it(usually).  I won't enter the actual student's grade for at least 2 days after this.  So, if your child has a blank or empty square next to an assignment it doesn't mean they have a zero.  It simply means I haven't put the grade in the computer yet.  However, if your child has a "0" for an assignment, then yes, he/she did indeed received a zero as a grade.

As far as make-up work is concerned…..a student is allowed to make up work if they have an excused absence.

If a student chooses not to do their homework then they have chosen to receive a zero.  I don't allow late work!  An important part of life is understanding the repercussions of one's choices.

I hope this clarifies any questions concerning Infinite Campus.
