Congratulations to all cadets of the Ky51st AFJROTC. We successfully completed our assessment last Friday and, although we haven't received our official rating yet, Col Gray said, "Tell your cadets they have every reason to celebrate." So, Col Purcell and I want to congratulate and thank everyone who contributed. Alpha flight performed the 30 count drill sequence exceptionally well and the seniors' briefing was excellent. In addition, many of you assisted in numerous other ways, such as counting uniforms multiple times, inventorying equipment, and just by wearing your uniform in a professional manner.
With the inspection behind us, we can get on with the other tasks and achieving our goals for the school year. To be recognized as a Distinguished Unit, we now have to meet those goals. Our inspection, should we achieve the goals, will label us a Distinguished Unit with merit. Excelling in PT, getting our APT going, doing well academically, and increasing community service are a few of the goals we need to achieve.
This week, we have ROTC Volleyball Thursday, followed by orienteering on 8 Oct, and soon after is our trip to Wright-Patterson on 25 Oct. We also have a couple of football color guards in Oct and fall break from 10-14 Oct.

It's finally here! -the week of our assessment by HQ AFJROTC. Colonel Gray will be here on Friday, 23 September for our triennial unit assessment and it is the opportunity for the KY-051st to show what it is made of. We have a great group of students this year and they have been working very hard under the leadership of Kyle, Ariel, Brooke, and Bridget. Remember, uniform wear will be Friday this week and not Tuesday. Also, the uniform of the day is Service Dress.
