Harrison County Preschool
Mission and Daily Schedule

The mission of the Harrison County Preschool Program is to provide children and their families the necessary foundations to promote future educational successes regardless of ability or disability. By doing so, the child will be better prepared to be career or college ready, as well as for life at home and in the community. The program will use a research-based curriculum approved by the Kentucky Department of Education and will focus on language and developmental strategies to ensure that all students have opportunities to develop their prewriting, writing and language skills. Strategies will be implemented to identify students’ specific learning styles and are aligned with the Kentucky Early Childhood Standards and Benchmarks, as well as the Kentucky Core Academic Kindergarten Standards. As no one person can provide all the emotional, physical and educational support that a child needs, the preschool program utilizes a team approach: valuing information from therapists, counselors, teaching assistants and most importantly, family members. This approach allows us to focus on and meet the needs of the whole child.
